We may also receive information from your employer as covered in the collective bargaining agreement or other related laws. If we are assisting with a representation or legal matter we may also receive information from involved lawyers, legal providers or other associated parties.

We may also receive data from third parties such as vendors that provide products or services to you with the assistance of Ricochet Systems. We protect this data according to the practices described in this statement, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data.

Reasons we share personal data

We share your personal data with your consent or as needed to complete any transaction or provide any product or service you have requested. This includes representation or legal services.

For example, we may share information you have provided to us during the representation or legal intake process with the law firm or legal representative that you have selected.

If you have signed up for a product or service we will also share information with the specific vendors, payment processors, etc. needed to provide that product or service to you.

We may also provide information to third parties that assist us in the development and maintenance of our information infrastructure. All information shared in this way is covered by non-disclosure agreements.

Your information may also be shared to assist in peforming the functions of a union or other legitimate purposes.

You can make choices on the collection of use of your data by Ricochet Systems. In some cases, your ability to access or control your personal data will be limited, as required or permitted by applicable law.

Collection of data from children

As a labour union, Ricochet Systems does not provide products or services to children. A union member must be of working age and covered by the collective bargaining agreement with the employer or other similar laws.

Ricochet Systems is committed to protecting the security of your personal data. We store your personal data on computer systems that have limited access and are in controlled facilities. When we transmit information over the internet, we protect it through the use of encryption. Ricochet Systems complies with applicable data protection laws.

Personal data collected by Ricochet Systems may be stored and processed in your region, in the United States, and in any other country where Ricochet Systems or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers operate facilities.

Our retention of personal data

Ricochet Systems retains personal data for as long as necessary to provide the products and fulfill the transactions you have requested, maintain records from the employer, provide legal or representation asssitance or for other legitimate purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, long term statistical analysis and enforcing our agreements.

Because these needs can vary for different data types, the context of our interactions with you or your use of products, actual retention periods can vary significantly.

California Consumer Privacy Act

If you are a California resident, we process your personal data in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This CCPA section of our Privacy Statement contains information required by the CCPA and supplements our Privacy Statement.

We do not sell your personal data and thus we do not offer an opt-out to the sale of personal data.

You have the right to request that we (i) disclose what personal data we collect, use, disclose, and sell and (ii) delete your personal data. You may make these requests yourself or through an authorized agent.
