Your privacy is important to us. This privacy statement explains the personal data that Ricochet Systems processes, how Ricochet Systems processes it, and for what purposes.

Ricochet Systems collects data from for the purposes described below, including to operate effectively and provide you with the best experience. You provide some of this data directly, such as when you join Ricochet Systems or when yuou contact us for support.

We get some of it by collecting data on your interactions with our website, your use of our services or products and your communication with us. We may also receive information from your employer as covered in the collective bargaining agreement or other related laws. If we are assisting with a representation or legal matter we may also receive information from involved lawyers, legal providers or other associated parties.

We may also receive data from third parties such as vendors that provide products or services to you with the assistance of Ricochet Systems. We protect this data according to the practices described in this statement, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data.

The data we collect can include the following:

• Name and contact data.
• Your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other similar contact data.
• Passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
• Data about you such as your age, gender, country, and preferred language.
• Data to process payments, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number) and the security code associated with your payment instrument.
• Information about your products and services.
• Payment and account history.
• Information about the device used to connect to our services such as IP address and web browser.
• Data you provide when you contact Ricochet Systems, such as the products or services you use, information about any representation or legal case and any other details you provide. Phone conversations or chat sessions with our representatives may be monitored and recorded.
• Searches and commands when you use Ricochet Systems products.
• Data about your contacts and relationships that are provided to us, for example, beneficiary information.
• Any information you provide when completing surveys.
• Any information that is provided to us in the course of assisting you.

How we use personal data

Ricochet Systems uses the data we collect to provide you the best possible union representation and other related products and services. Specifically we use it to:

• Provide union representation and legal support.
• Provide products and services.
• Process payments for your membership and any other products and services.
• Guide the actions of Ricochet Systems when performing the duting of a union.
• Conduct surveys to determine your opinion on employment related matters or other products and services.
• Advertise and market to you.
• Operate our business, which includes our improving our performance and workforce, meeting our legal obligations.
• Improve our products and services.

When we process personal data about you, we do so with your consent and/or as required to provide the products you use, operate our business, meet our contractual and legal obligations, protect the security of our systems and our customers, or fulfill other legitimate interests of Ricochet Systems.

Reasons we share personal data

We share your personal data with your consent or as needed to complete any transaction or provide any product or service you have requested. This includes representation or legal services.

For example, we may share information you have provided to us during the representation or legal intake process with the law firm or legal representative that you have selected.

If you have signed up for a product or service we will also share information with the specific vendors, payment processors, etc. needed to provide that product or service to you.

We may also provide information to third parties that assist us in the development and maintenance of our information infrastructure. All information shared in this way is covered by non-disclosure agreements.

Your information may also be shared to assist in peforming the functions of a union or other legitimate purposes.

You can make choices on the collection of use of your data by Ricochet Systems. In some cases, your ability to access or control your personal data will be limited, as required or permitted by applicable law.

For example, you can request or manually opt out of any communication from Ricochet Systems, you may request or cancel any associated products or services subject to the agreed terms of service.

Your communications preferences

You decide what communications to receive from Ricochet Systems and the method: email, text or physical mail.

If you receive email, mail or text messages from us and would like to opt out, you can do so by following the directions in that message. Messages relating to ongoing legal or representation may not be opted out of.

By law (and common decency) all text communication is by default opt-out.

Communication related directly to any representation or legal matter we are assisiting with is 'opt-in'.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device to store data that can be recalled by our web services. Some cookies are placed by third parties acting on our behalf. We use cookies and similar technologies to store your preferences and settings, enable you to sign-in, provide interest-based advertising and other legitimate purposes.

Collection of data from children

As a labour union, Ricochet Systems does not provide products or services to children. A union member must be of working age and covered by the collective bargaining agreement with the employer or other similar laws.

Security of personal data

Ricochet Systems is committed to protecting the security of your personal data. We store your personal data on computer systems that have limited access and are in controlled facilities. When we transmit information over the internet, we protect it through the use of encryption. Ricochet Systems complies with applicable data protection laws.

Where we store and process personal data

Personal data collected by Ricochet Systems may be stored and processed in your region, in the United States, and in any other country where Ricochet Systems or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers operate facilities.

Our retention of personal data

Ricochet Systems retains personal data for as long as necessary to provide the products and fulfill the transactions you have requested, maintain records from the employer, provide legal or representation asssitance or for other legitimate purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, long term statistical analysis and enforcing our agreements.

Because these needs can vary for different data types, the context of our interactions with you or your use of products, actual retention periods can vary significantly.

California Consumer Privacy Act

If you are a California resident, we process your personal data in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This CCPA section of our Privacy Statement contains information required by the CCPA and supplements our Privacy Statement.

We do not sell your personal data and thus we do not offer an opt-out to the sale of personal data.

You have the right to request that we (i) disclose what personal data we collect, use, disclose, and sell and (ii) delete your personal data. You may make these requests yourself or through an authorized agent.
